My DH goes through dress shirts quite often sometimes, they always wear in the elbows. I've turned some of them into short sleeve dress shirts for him and stashed some in my recon bin. Here's what I've done with one of them (after I did the shirred pillowcase dress it was so simple I HAD to do this shirt and I LOVE LOVE LOVE it!)

It's be SO nice during really hot weather! After I put it all together I added a few more buttons taken from the cuffs of the sleeves to fill it out more, just seemed like too much space in between the original buttons. All I did was cut the shirt straight across right under the armpits. Folding the top over to hem it, then started shirring all the way around using my sewing foot as the measurement between each line. Did that until I thought there were enough, added the extra buttons and straps and done! Super easy! The hardest part was the straps, and placing them correctly evenly and long enough.

Here are a couple tuts I used

Okay so once again I am completely redoing my pictures. Got tired of photobucket, the only reason I used it was for here so I decided I will just use Craftster's photo uploader. So while I am switching over my photo links will be broken. Message me if there is a post you would like the pics for.
