I made a loom from the frame from an A3-size corkboard, and a heddle reed from part of a plastic ringbinder, both from the 100Y shop! I could probably have cut the strips that make up the reed a bit straighter, but it works just fine Cheesy

Full instructions on my blog, as usual Wink

There was even enough plastic left over to cut out some useable shuttles.

this is awesome - I have all the mats in my craft room! My daughter wants to get into fiber arts, but does not have the patience to knit or crochet yet (if ever - the 'wool over the hand' thing makes her insane), so this is PERFECT! thanks for posting the tute!

Wow!  Thank you!  I want to start weaving, and this post and the instructions on your blog make it look... possible!  I tried to make a loom before, but I got very confused about the purpose of the shed stick - the rigid heddle makes it look a lot easier!   Grin

Ohboyohboyohboy!  I tried this yesterday - I'd got an old canvas covered frame I'd used for an (awful) painting, so I ripped the canvas off and used the frame.  I made the rigid heddle from plastic chinese takeaway boxes and a cereal box, and started weaving!  Will post pictures soon to show off.

Thank you so much for posting this - I've wanted to start weaving for a while, but this is the first project that's enabled me to do this.  I really appreciate it.

But this should surely come with a health warning - I can see how adictive weaving is going to be!   Grin
