So I decided to make a teddy bear for my cousin's new baby. This is my first time crocheting a teddy bear and I didn't use a pattern so I think it turned out pretty good. I can't decide whether to put buttons or yarn for eyes so let me know what you think!

Thanks for looking!

If the bear's for a new baby, I'd suggest yarn or safety eyes (buttons can be swallowed, choked on, etc.).  And I just think button eyes look a bit creepy...  Safety eyes are great and available at most Michael's, AC Moore, or online.  But since it looks like you've already closed him up and everything, I'd say go with yarn.  It's cute, safe, and easy!

Very nice job on the bear, by the way!  I think your cousin and her baby will love it!

Oooh he's so cute!  Love the multi-colour fur.

I vote for yarn eyes, much safer for a baby than buttons.

A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort.

So cute and such a great job. Defiantly yarn eyes since you closed him up already. I cant believe you did him without a pattern. Wow, I was gonna ask where you got the pattern too! Shocked

Great job on the bear!   I would agree with those who suggested yarn or safety eyes, if its for a baby or child.  Otherwise, I prefer buttons.

Your bear is darling! Did you see the movie Coraline? No buttons for eyes!
