Some cards I made the other night...

I hate buying cards in the store...they are all so dumb and I can never find anything I like. So, I decided to make my own.

This was a birthday card I made...the body of the butterfly was beaded by hand.

This was for some friends of ours who just had a baby...

This was another birthday card...the necklace was beaded by hand, and I also made the earrings. It was for my cousin who just turned 16, and she loved it!

Those are totally cute!!  I love that idea - cards are so expensive and so cheesy.  Especially baby and wedding cards!!  I can never find ones that aren't really sappy.

Those are great!  How did you do the designs?  They look like cut paper - did you freehand them?  Or diecuts?  Or whatever?

I'm off to dig out my card supplies!

I just searched through some of the clip art files on my computer...I used them as a guide and kind of customized it to my liking. All the pieces are cut from paper - some freehand and some taken from the clip art images.

Those are soo cute! Are the earrings functional? How did you get them to lie flat?

Yeah, the earrings are functional...I kinda lay them on their sides when I close the card to put it in the envelope...Since they are glass beads, though, I am not going to put it in the mail with out using some kind of padded packaging..too risky!
