I'm not quite sure how "crafty" this is, but it was a neat idea that I used...
Since my mom & dad are going to be out of town during Mother's Day, my family and I celebrated it today.  I was in a bit of a hurry to get my mom's gift, so the etched vase idea didn't work out (especially since I couldn't find any Armor Etch at Michael's! Sad)  Anyway, I got the idea to put together a picnic basket for my mother.  My mom & my dad like to ride down to the river & pack snacks to eat.  I decided that my mom would enjoy a little picnic basket.  I bought a basket at Pier 1, then I bought a little picnic table cover, plates, forks, knives, spoons, and I tied ribbons around everything.  It came together looking so cute.  I know this isn't really that crafty, but it involves some creativity and imagination and is a nice personal gift.  Just thought I would share!  I'll try to take pictures of mine later.

Awww. So sweet. I'm sure your mom really appreciated it, it really shows the love! I know that my mom always loves the things I make for her, she never wants me to spent too much money on it either. Maybe I can do something like this for my mom's birthday?

I've done this as a wedding gift once. I bought a set of the plates that they had on their registry and some of the utensils they wanted, and put it in a picnic basket (because picnics are so cute and romantic  Grin) It was very well received. I'm sure your mom loved it!
