I was planning on wearing a perfectly good green dress to my uncles wedding when I spotted this beautiful material in Spotlight and decided with 2 days, no free time, and hardly any experience making adults clothes, I would make my own dress!

This dress evolved as it went, it started off with full batwing style sleeves

but then after adding a full circle skirt (not yet hemmed in these pics) I thought it was just too much fullness ( and made me look like a big marshmellow) and pulled the sleeves in for a more grecian style sleeve.

I added a zipper in the back but it was a light purple so I put the big bow over the top to hide it a bit.

Sorry I don't have great pictures, but here are a couple of action shots from the wedding, I don't have one on my own so here are my sisters and my brother too for your viewing pleasure Tongue

Thanks for looking!

It's gorgeous!  The original one was nice, but I agree that the grecian-style sleeves look better.  Nice find on that fabric too, the colors are great.

That fabric is lovely and the dress looks so cool, even ethereal. I love it.

I deeeeefinitely like the sleeves the way you had them in the wedding pictures, rather than the wings. Before it looked kind of like a nightgown, now it looks really suave and cute.

SO beautiful! Love the design - especially with the dark purple panels and high waist.  Cheesy
