This spring, our drama director decided that we were going to put on Disney's Beauty and the Beast. I was excited, and lucky me, I got cast as Babette, the feather duster. I decided to make my own costume and looked around teh interwebz for inspiration. My biggest one was irishdaydreamer's Babette posted on here, so that's what I modeled it after.

I hot-glued all of the feathers on by hand.
(Can you spot the one orange feather?)

Beauty shot!

^I didn't make my human costume I'm wearing here, but I did thrift all of it 8 ]

I adore it!

question: What made you decide to use what materials you used?
Like the feathers and length and the feathers around your shoulders Cheesy

I'm kinda new to clothing construction and wondered about your process
 its really great though!

I used most of the materials because I liked them and it was budget friendly. The satin was fairly cheap costume, and where the feathers are is a 1 yard burlap type stuff.
The boa around my shoulders was a last minute thing, I had to add elastic to the top because it didn't hold me well, and I didn't want to flash the audience!  Wink

You modeled your costume after the one I made?!?!?!

You have no idea how much I am geeking out right now. Seriously, you have no idea. I am literally bouncing up and down on the bed because I am so excited!

I love yours, it's adorable. I really like the feathers you used for the bottom. They look awesome!

Sorry, I had to get that out...
