When did this start?  Just curious on seeing what everyone has come up with.  I'll be trying my own version sometime soon!

I did mine just like the original thread in the completed clothing:general section.
the top is my hip measurement and 6 in. long
then each row i added about 20 inches for the gathering (still 6 inches long)
the last row was 120 inches ouchhhh that took like twenty years to finish.
oh and when you do it it will seem like it poofs out a lot but once the bottom layer is added it weighs it down.

thanks erin-i think its the perfect length too.
for the gathering:
i took the long strip of fabric and sewed it across the top with my loosest stitch (basted it)
then i took the end of the thread and slowly pulled it so gathers began to form in the skirt
i spread out the gathers till it was the right size
then i sewed it together and took out the basting stitch afterwards.
so each row needs to be longer b/c it gets ruffly.
make sure the thread doesnt break or else the gathering will come out.

Goonir-

did you use the tutorial that someone posted, or did you just kind of wing it?

so i made the top things of my skirt. and yeah, i forgot that my butt is HUGE, so i have to fix that....
also, what should the length difference be between the layers??? i made mine like 6 inches...but it looks dumb. so i have to do it longer.

mine had 25cm difference between the top couple of the tiers and 50cm extra each tier on the lower tiers.
