I am still cutting mine  Grin The last tier needs a LOT of fabric, and I don'thave any more matching stuff. Plus I have no time to go buy some.

I know what you mean, I had to make the last tiere from several leftovers sewn together, because a sheet isn't that long.

I made another gypsy skirt, the patches sewed together into a tier first, so I guess it qualifies as "tiered".  Wink

SamGlam,

You should try to hand-sew one!!!  It's really not that bad if you're watching a movie or something, and it's kind of mindless because you just go around in a circle, basically...I made a couple of tiered skirts this way (really circle skirts that I cut into sections and then added one more strip on the bottom to make it longer) and it only really takes a few hours or so, as long as you pin correctly the first time ;-)

All of these skirts look GREAT!!

I guess the same way as machine sewing (unless i've been machine gathering wrong.) Just fold over the fabric a little bit after every few stitches.

if you dont want to fold it over every few stitches theres a MUUUUCH easier way! just baste about 1/4 inch from the end of the fabric you want to gather. a baste stitch is just a really log stitch. don't reverse (if youre using a machine) and leave a few inches of thread on each end. when youre finished stiching, pull on the thread and the fabric shoul gather. this is much easier! PM me if you have any questions. -Lisa
