I received from mouser382 yesterday.

Here is the whole loot.

she made a lined/padded camera case that fits my camera and the cord to go to the computer because I am always losing it. a little box bag for projects and notions for my knitting. a robot made of plaster with paint to paint it, annnnd the best thing of all a duffel bag to take to the gym or the pool! The fabric is so cute and I love the piping on the sides. It looks so good. And she is a beginning sewer , I think you have found a talent!

here's a close up of the piping

it has 3 knitting projects, and a bag of marshmallows in it in the picture so it's a great size as well.

also she made me some hard wood coasters from my wist , and some homemade marshmallows which I have been wanting to try forever. My son lovvves marshmallows so these were a big hit. What recipe did you use ? I'd like to try to make more.

thank you for everything ! you were a really great partner and I'm taking a break from swapping for a while so it was a great way to end off

I love personal swaps, I currently need art (paintings or something to hang on a wall) but I'd be up for anything.

Yep, that's a talent all right! That fabric is great, and the piping is perfect. You're a seamster, all right!

Aww, you guys! It really isn't perfect but I was definitely really proud of how that duffle turned out. I learned SO MUCH about sewing from making the things for this swap!!
Things I will think before doing again: using directional fabric, having a tutorial that only kind of does what I want, and showing family members what I made. Now that they know I can do it I've got three more on the list already.

The marshmallows are a combination of two recipes I found online... this one for how to add in the cocoa powder to make them chocolate: http://www.examiner.com/x-24122-HaightAshbury-Budget-Living-Examiner~y2009m11d7-Chocolate-Marshmallow-Recipe--How-to-Make-Homemade-Marshmallows
And this one for the recipe, I just added the cocoa from the previous one: http://smittenkitchen.com/2009/06/springy-fluffy-marshmallows/
I coated them in a mixture of powdered sugar and more cocoa.

I'm so glad you liked everything, Spolowitz!

Amazing bags!  Sooo cute!  I would never use directional fabric.  I'm scared of it. Smiley  Great job.

I received such a wonderful package from Carliegirl the other day.  My daughter forgot her camera so we did the next best thing...we scanned all the items on the scanner.  The last item was done in 2 parts and although she never had done this before, she fiddled around with it and managed to line them up as one.
No. 1  a set of potholders

No. 2  2 cute little kitties, Paula and Pauline, and the pretty card she sent

No. 3)  A small silk lined jewelry pouch

No.4  A mug identical to the one on my wist (Bubbe is the Jewish name foir Grandma)

No. 5  Also, straight from my wists is this appliqued Tree of Life that I will eventually have framed.

She did a wonderful job on everything.  Thank you so much Carlie.
