I believe the knot is called a hitch knot. I could be wrong, but that is what it looks like to me.

I believe the knot is called the half hitch.  It's half of the square knot, over and over again which makes a spiral around the wire.

Crocheting is like prostitution.  First you do it for love, and then for a few close friends, and then for money.  Maybe that is why they call us Hookers?

Great idea! I'd love to see more (the knot you use)! Sounds like a fun project for kids and I have a ton of wire hangers in my brother's basement! Grin

I love these type of hangers! My grandma gave me a bunch of them as a bridal shower gift.  They work so well with tops with deep V's or scoop necks that slide right off plastic hangers.

Thanks for posting this.  I had forgotten about those.  I used to make them back in the day.  Now I know what to do with all of those metal hangers that seem to multiply so fast.

I have a load of metal hangers, they seem to multiply in my house,   I'm also lucky enough to have a huge box of nylon selvege that I got about 3 years ago in a local charity shop (I knew I would use it one day).
I've just made my first one in pink and lilac which has instantly been claimed by my daughter for her princess dress.   Thanks for posting this, aI would never have done this otherwise.
