I finished this a while ago, hoping to debut it with the advent of spring. Unfortunately, as spring has not been particularly forthcoming to the city this year, I got impatient and decided to debut it here.

I loved this pattern--I hate sewing but doing the cups separately and then piecing it all together allowed for a really fabulous fit. I substituted a lace pattern for the main body to avoid getting bored.
Now if only the weather would permit me to wear it...

Thank you all for your kind comments!
I used a lace pattern called "Falling Leaves" from The Encyclopedia of Knitting. Since it's just a rectangle you're making, it's easy to substitute any lace pattern that catches your fancy.
There are a bunch of beautiful ones at http://www.knitting-and.com/knitting/patterns-lace.htm

That's absolutely gorgeous! Like tootightjeans, that looks so much different (and better!) than the original pattern.

In a word sweet Smiley What kind of yarn did you use? Where would I find the encyclopedia of knitting?

I love this! It looks fantastic on you. I've never considered making anything like this because it wouldn't be practical, but now I'm thinking one could wear it with a cardigan...its just so pretty! Wonderful job!!

I got mine at the Smiley's Yarns sale in Manhattan last fall, so it's quite likely it's discontinued. There should be any number of similar cotton dk weights out there though, the patons isn't anything special at all. Good luck!

You should submit that for the Knitty calendar that coming out next year.  Their looking for pictures of items that have been made w/ the knitty patterns.

I used two strands--the dk knit pretty well to gauge.
