and he doesn't like this one.
He likes this type.
I cannot find a fiddler crab pattern. Do you think it'd be hard to make it up?

I really like that crab too.  I don't think that it would be terribly difficult to make up.   more challenging to make all the long skinny legs

I know you said your son didn't like the first version, but maybe that pattern could be modified a little to look like the angry crab from the Mario Bros. game. If you do a google search for "mario sidestepper pic" it might give you some ideas.  Smiley

Do you knit?  If so heres a FREE pattern for a very cool pattern of a crab.  Its the 'deadliest crab' pattern from the summer 09 knitty.  Perhaps the kiddo would like it.

Want to learn to crochet or knit?  I have a ton of extra crochet hooks & circular knitting needles.  Will throw in some pattern books and yarn for anyone interested in a swap.

The expression in the eyes makes all the difference, I think. If you change the eyes and mouth and perhaps the upper arms (lower them a little, as if to grab something), you could make an angry crab, as said above. Hope that's scary enough for him  Wink.

I asked him that, but he likes the fiddler crab look better. As in, the laying down one. I don't know how his mind works, lol. I don't quite knit - I tried that first and just didn't do well at it. But that's a good picture, I bet I could figure something out from that.
