Every week, my friends and I get together and watch Lost and have a nice dinner and dessert. Last week, I had the idea to make a Golden Snitch cake. It doesn't really have anything to do with Lost, but I think Hurley has mentioned Harry Potter once or twice.

At first, I was going to try to use my sister's Big Top Cupcake pan that she got for Christmas, but then I read on a blog (ah, I can't remember which, sorry) to use a Wilton's Sports ball pan..which I did!

Now it had some problems, mostly the wings that I made were too heavy to stay on the cake so I had to sort of just sit them on the sides of the cake, but it still looked OK I think. And it still tasted great. You can't ever go wrong with Funfetti...

Book-typed crafts always make me happy, especially when you can eat them! Cheesy
I think you did a great job with this, and I really believed the wings were meant to be like this at first, they look good this way.

Ha ha thanks for the comment, I just posted something that I made that was inspired by your St Mungo's Kit. I loved what you did.

Bookmarked! this is too cool. What did you use for the wings?

I have vintage smurf sheets and do embroidery and stenciling...wanna swap?

I cut out the wings from store bought pie crust. Then its topped with powdered sugar/a splash of milk icing!

I had wanted them to be able to be on the snitch, but they were too big so they had to rest on it.
