It's a miracle!

So I made one of these previously in a different fabric (http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=337929.msg3910202#msg3910202) and a friend liked it enough to want one as a baby shower gift.

We went to Hobby Lobby together and she picked out the fabrics- this is what I ended up with. I feel like I learned a lot from the first bag and the finished product here is a lot more "finished" than with mine. But hey, I'm gonna be the one carrying mine so it doesn't matter as much, right? Tongue

I used a stiffer interfacing than I did with my other bag and I think it really helped the look of the bag. Plus, this one has shorter straps (a total accident, but these actually stand on their own and don't just flop down when you sit the bag down) and stands a bit better on its own. I also added a cell phone pocket to the inside since she requested it (made me a little nervous...but I did alright, don't you think?)

Bag Front (that's actually a brown fabric yo-yo on there but I couldn't get the lighting to cooperate at all. Just use your imagination  Wink )

Cell phone pocket (and it's not actually sideways..I just forgot to rotate the picture Tongue )

Comments/criticism?

I can't wait to see what your bags look like! I've become a little obsessed with looking up handmade diaper bags online. Good luck getting the kiddos to cooperate! I'll be in that boat pretty soon Smiley

It's not too hard to make, you should give it a go! I had trouble understanding the pattern at first but once it clicked it didn't take too long. Glad you like it!

I hope she likes it! I've got it all bagged up now with her other stuff for the shower on Saturday.

Wow, that is gorgeous!!  LOVE that fabric!!  What kind of interfacing did you end up using?  I like the stiffness of the bag.

Great job on this one too.

I'll second the question about interfacing as I always struggle with picking good stuff for bags.

The bag looks great, I'd be really happy with myself if I made something half as good as that!
