I love it.
It sounds as though the instructions aren't easy to follow. Is this a bag a beginner could tackle, or best leave it until I actually know something about sewing?

I would say it's an intermediate pattern, although on a scale of 1-5 Amy Butler rates it a 4 in difficulty. I think without the inner pockets it would be much easier to tackle.

I would agree with intermediate.  The BEST thing to do with Amy Butler patterns is to read all the way through the instructions...like a dozen times before you start to tackle the project!!  the other thing that helps is to have all your pieces put together and then arrange them the way the directions call for...seeing is better than reading sometimes, right?

One of the two local walmarts still carries fabric/craft supplies...so I'm still in luck!!  You R so right! Hobby Lobby is expensive but they do often carry a 40% off coupon on their website...so check for that before you go buy anything...if ur reading this that is! Smiley

My daughter just picked that same fabric for straps on her duffel we're making. The bag you made is great. Didn't see up there if it's your own design?

Nah, I wish! It's from an Amy Butler pattern book, with modifications made to make it smaller and not a beach-sized bag. I do think if I make another one I'll change the shape of the closure tab and maybe change the straps a little. Good luck with the duffel, hope we get to see the end product here on Craftster!
