Details of swap:This swap is all about living (and crafting!) frugally. Frugal living means something different to each person, but it may include saving money by using cloth napkins, knit/crocheted dishcloths, reusable shopping bags (you save 5 cents for each bag you bring in at my grocery store!), wool dryer balls (seriously, the dryer sheets can be pricey!), reusable menstrual pads or diva cup/moon cup bag and wet bags, soap savers, homemade laundry soap, homemade bath soaks, etc. Or it may include recipes to try out instead of eating out, a piggy bank/other way of corralling change to take to the bank instead of letting it be eaten by the couch, having a coupon organizer ... the ideas are endless!
For this swap,
95% of what you'll use to craft should be from your stash. The more you use that you already have, the better! If you absolutely must purchase something, it'd be great if you could get it at the Salvation Army/Goodwill/thrift stores or on sale. (I don't want to say don't buy anything because I know how it feels to have everything you need except one little thing for a project.)
I'll do my best to pair people by country, so participants can take advantage of cheaper rate shipping. (If you'd be willing to send out of your country, that'd be great though, in case of uneven numbers.)
Crafting Requirements:The requirements for this swap is
5 points, which will translate to
one medium and three smalls. If you want to do more, please talk to your partner! Remember, this is all about frugality so do not feel obligated or pressured into sending more than the requirements. If your partner mentions spoiling and you can't or won't, be honest! We're all here to get a handle on saving and becoming more financially in charge of our futures, so no one is going to look down their nose at you if you don't want to or can't send more than the requirements. Really. Pinky promise!
For those who need a refresher, here's the Craftster guide to what constitutes each size:
By Time
-Medium = 2 or more hours
-Small = 2 or less hours
By Size
-Medium = one single necklace or bracelet, a scarf
-Small = Earrings, stickers, wallets, pouches, bookmarks
By Price (though really, USE YOUR STASH!!! The entire package should be less than a small!)
-Medium = $10-$30 dollars
-Small = $10 or less
Communication Requirements:Checking in on the swap thread at least once a week is required so we know you're still around and crafting! A quick note saying that you're still working is sufficient. Since in the last swap we were a very chatty bunch - and not always on topic - I am requiring that every post have SOMETHING to do with being frugal, being crafty or being craftily frugal. Also, communicating with your partner is also a necessity. If you have consistent (and recent) dings on feedback for poor communication or sending late, I may not approve your application. I will also note communication in feedback!
