I just started crocheting last Saturday & I made a turtle for my first project, which I gave to my 3yo. I wanted to practice a bit more, as well as make something my 1yo would appreciate. I used the Gabu pattern from Roxycraft to make him a ball (just left off the eyes and antennae), which I stuffed with dried pinto beans. I added some more decreases at the bottom instead of finishing off with 12 stitches and sewing closed. Those extra decreases made sort of big holes, so I don't leave him alone with it, but he loves to throw it and squish it.

Of course, the 3yo steals it.

Crocodile likes it too.

Oh yeah, here's my turtle, also posted in the turtle-along post

Awesome little turtle! You are doing great for just starting!

Here's a great tutorial that I used to help get rid of those holes from decreases, it works out great!
