I can't get a decent picture of this no matter what I try.  Roll Eyes

It started out as a regular artist canvas. I cut a hole in the canvas and mounted a papier mache box on the the back of the canvas to create a niche. Then I covered it all with molding paste, a texture paste and several washes of paint. The heart is made of celluclay and painted.

The metal corners are by Tim Holtz, nailed on and beaten up with a hammer.

(If you click on the pictures it will take you to my Flickr page and you can see more detailed shots there. They show the texture a little better.)

i love personal swaps. i'm looking to swap my art or paper crafts for some re-usable fabric snack bags, fabric sandwich wraps, fabric paper towels, glass pendants, ephemera, or art books.

This is SO AWESOME! I love the depth of the entire piece. The metal corners really give it that extra something, I'd never think to do that. <3 it!

Thanks!

It was looking a little naked and I just bought those corners so they were still on the top of the pile that is my work table. It seemed like a good fit.

I'm amazed at what I've see everyone do with the celluclay. This heart was my first remotely successful attempt at making something. I'll keep playing with it and see if I can get any better.
