Out with the Crib, In with the Bed!

My niece outgrew her crib and my sister wanted to make her new bed as cute as the rest of her room.  Inspired by some super expensive catalogue beds, we made a beautiful bedskirt.  I just got a sewing machine at the end of last year so we thought we'd go ahead and choose something super difficult for our first project... or maybe I should say that we had no idea what a pain what we wanted to do would be . It was a lot of pinning and guessing and we did it all in small steps as to not end up with a giant mess. Tulle on top of Chiffon on top of two layers of white sheets. I sewed ribbon on the edge of the tulle.  We lined it all up, and put what we decided were pleats in it. It turned out beautiful if I do say so myself. As far as I know my sister made the headboard out of plywood, cotton batting, cute material, and staples.

Thanks... I love her walls too. She hired a very awesome woman to paint them, she used a lot of tape, but every time I go in there, it makes me want to do something cool with paint in my own house.
