This is awesome! The question I have is: what kind of beeswax do you use? I am on the hunt for "cosmetic grade" beeswax and have come up with nothing! Is there a particular brand that should be used? Can you use the same stuff for batik and candles? Thanks!

As long as it doesn't have some weird additive that you might not want to ingest it should be fine. I buy beeswax from:

www.wholesalesuppli esplus.com
www.brambleberry.co m

I've also bought and used beeswax from bee farmers at farmer's markets. That's harder to work with though, I prefer pellets (the size of lentils) or even granules (like salt) if I can find them. Much easier to measure small amounts, no cutting of super hard wax required.  Grin

Ohhh I want to do this!

I'm too lazy to Google, can you get slider tins pretty much everywhere online? I've ordered from SpecialtyBottle before and been happy. I believe they're based out of Seattle so they're shipping is quick for me.

Thanks for sharing!

Actually, there is a difference between industrial beeswax and cosmetic and food grade beeswax.  Industrial grade beeswax can sometimes contain a heavy load of pesticide or sometimes even unnatural additives.  It's meant for non-edible applications such as furniture polish, commercial lubes, etc.  Sometimes, this kind of beeswax is sold for general crafting in art or hobby shops.  The safest kind of beeswax you can buy is all natural or organic, but regular food/cosmetic grade beeswax is perfectly fine for lip balms, skin care etc.  Any skin care ingredient supplier you buy from should only be selling cosmetic/food grade beeswax.  As long as you go with a reputable supplier you are A-OK, just be wary of fly-by-night suppliers, as they may not be experienced enough to know what they are buying and selling.

Slider Tins are available at quite a few sites.  We also offer them at From Nature With Love, where you can use your special Craftser Discount Code. Hint: look at my signature. Wink
