I want to make my friend a how to survive in Utah kit!  (Sorry I posted so much today, but I need ideas quickly!)  Anyone whos ever been to or lived in Utah, what could I put in it?  Thanks for your input!  Tongue

Why don't you make a big kit, and throw in a bunch of things to remind her of you.
Like, ticket stubs to movies you've seen together, a cd of your favorite band/group, pictures of your favorite hangouts...
Just stuff to remind her of all the fun she's had there.
Hope I helped!

Even if you they are mormon something funny I think would be mormon repellant...just because the culture is soooo much different in Utah.

Um...one of those hand held water fans, those are just funny and you always see people with them...

Um...If they aren't LDS and over 21 the obvious would be a bottle of liquor.

I don't know...wow, I miss Utah.  Sad Ouch its painful.

Don't eat. If you want to see food, look in the mirror at your thighs...

You may be LDS, but if you have never lived/been to Utah, then it really is a culture shock from anywhere else. I know, I live here now. I grew up here, then joined the USMC and moved to North Carolina for a while, then back here. It was such a shock the first time I walked into a gas station and they had wine, etc. on the racks. Especially if she is moving from the East Coast it will be very different.

A camera to take pictures of the scenic view; bug spray, sunscreen, because it IS a deseret; maybe a pamphlet for the Shakespearen Festival, in Cedar City; A really good city map (do you know what city she will be living in?) then there is the a Sundance Film Festival; If she will live in Salt Lake City, there are free things, Like the Sights of Summer free summer kids movies on an outside blow up screen in different parks; The Chalk Art festival is June 17-18; Jordan Landing Street Fest every Friday night till September...

Can't think of anything else, if you were willing to tell where she would be living and how old, wether or not she will have a car or not I could help more. Good Luck;p

Bountiful is about an hour away from downtown Salt Lake, so many of those ideas probably wont work... sorry;p But last time I was there, there was a skating rink there. But that was about 10 years or so ago. But Lagoon is fairly close, it is an amusement park, like a mix of wet'n wild and Disney. They have lots of rides, and a new one every year;p

Hey why dont you make a box in the shape of Utah.  You should go to a Utah website and get fun facts. and throw them in the box as well.

I live in Utah, and I honestly don't know what to tell you. I don't know how you would theme anything to go with it; it's a pretty boring place.

Fearlessly willing to try new crafts ... and usually botching them horribly.
