Made some slipper for my grandmother-in-law. she turned 71.
my favourite aspect about them is that the black is from a black sheep, from the sheep down the road.
the fibres felted together better than any dyed wool ive ever used (synthetic/natural dyed). it was very enjoyable... and fast!
the design on the slippers isnt original- i took inspiration from local traditional slippers- i thought she might like that
(search muhu slippers)
she loved them , and i hope you enjoy them too! Smiley

Beautiful work!

Power is strength and the ability to see yourself through your own eyes and not through the eyes of another. It is being able to place a circle of power at your own feet and not take power from someone else's circle.

Are they wool all over, or did you set them on a tread?  They look amazing!  I'm really super impressed.  I'm just starting to re-learn my embroidery again, and am so impressed.  Thank you so much for sharing.

Those are surprisingly black. Most undyed black wool I've seen was really just dark grey. The brightness of the design is great, and I'm sure they're very comfy.

Thankyou for all the lovely comments Smiley

to Merripan: yup, they are wool all over. her feet are similar size to mine. so i wrapped the wool around my feet, using them as a mould. i was going to stitch leather on the bottom, but i didnt find any from 2nd hand stores
im not familiar with the term 'set on a tread'?

to Wulf: yes they are very black, this is why i love them so much! it really makes beautiful contrasts. i think in the picture they seem more black than they would if they were against something that is dyed black. the wool also tends to have grey strands in them, but only a few.

copy and paste this- at the bottom right you can see the two blacks (must* in estonian), the looduslik must is the natural one- you can see its not quite as bright as the other. but still so beautiful Smiley
