took me a few hours of grunt work and several days of curing time, (ugh) but i finally made my first lamp!!!

i used a balloon. i was so afraid it wouldn't be strong enough to hold all that weight. i think for my next lamp, i'll invest in a playground ball and an air pump. so i can just keep reusing it!

i shaped it around a balloon. marked off where i wanted to keep it open. then as i strung the string around the balloon, i dipped the string in a mixture of glue and liquid starch. it was alot like making paper mache. just took way longer!
