I created the Tuxedo Dude Tote before I created the American Crock Shopping Tote that I entered into the Craft Challenge #47 for Reusable Shopping Bag Contest.   I'm just now finding the pictures that I took or I would have entered it into the contest.

I designed and created this for a friend who asked me to make a gift she wanted for her sister whose son was getting married.   Her sister is a collector of Totes and doesn't go shopping at the grocery store, farmers market, mall or anywhere without one in hand.

I used black and white plastic yarn.   Since I do go digging for plastic bags in recycle boxes I'm pretty sure the black bags to name one store is compliments of ABC Liquors.  I can't remember who the other store contributors are from.  And the white plastic bag is taken from a huge variety of different stores that I have in my 'plentiful' stash.

You can't be a 'Dude' without legs and shoes which were made using the plastic lids for the shoes. I trimmed the outer edge of the 'shoes' with plied black and white plastic yarn from my Louet spinning wheel. I came up with the idea for the black and white 'shoes' from my very fond memory of how adorable my son looked going to his last prom as a senior in high school.
