i want to make a shopping cart cover but have no extra room in my diaper bag. i would like it to be at least slightly padded and have seen multiple ways to make them. any idea how to make it fold into a pocket or bag and have handles maybe?

I didn't make mine (bought a Fluffy Seat), but it has handles and a pocket like you're describing. The pocket is just a big patch pocket sewn to the "wrong" side of the seat (the flipside of where the kid parks his butt). It's nice that it's on that side because my boy usually fills his seat with crumbs and that lets me wrap the seat up, crumbs and all, without making an extra mess for the restaurant. The handles are sewn on either edge of the pocket. As an added bonus, there's also a bunch of toy loops sewn on. Here's the exact one I have: http://www.floppyseat.com/product_descriptions/GeoDots.htm (and no, I don't get paid by the company!) I'd be interested to know how much more inexpensive it is to make rather than buy. I'd love a secondary one for when this one's in the washer!
