Since my partner received last week I thought I'll post some pictures of what I sent her

Scrapbook Cookbook

Two single pages

Potholders

I didn't take pictures of everything, but I also included some sweets, custard powder, vanilla sugar, cookie cutters (shaped like feet) and a German cookbook.

I got my package from Ekkagrrl today, and have to say that she shamed my efforts in making a scrapbook - her's is so neat, pretty, and professional looking!

The inside cover has my favourite Shakespeare quote too (did you know that?).  It's from Twelfth Night (my favourite Shakespeare play) - If music be the food of love... play on.  I actually have it as a plaque above my desk too.

I just realised I did not take a close up of the cover, but it is there in teh group shot.

I think the crab linguine will be made tomorrow or Friday for dinner, it sounds great, and definitely I will be making the boiled dinner or rappie pie (a smaller version!!!) for DH as a surprise because they are absolutely something he would love.  And cornbread - I could just eat nothing but a good pan of cornbread for the day!

I asked for local-type of cookbooks, things that may be put out by the local lady's auxillary, or church that could have tried and true fare (and sometimes cute little pics and stories).  She sent me exactly that, a book from the East Coast, and one put out by the local hospital, as well as a booklet from when she was a Pampered Chef consultant.

I loved the crafted items, the fabrics are gorgeous.  She made me a snack bag and sandwich wrap in awesome, awesome dragon fabrics - I so love that fabric!  Great timing because I was thinking the other day that reusable  snack bags would be nice to have. Also a very pretty celetial patterned grocery bag.  We hate our local mayor and he made it law that all disposable bags now have to be paid for.  I wanted to go reusable to begin with, but DH didn't care, but now he does it just to keep more money from going into the hands of our financially inept municipal government.  More bags are definitely appreciated!

For the extras, an adorable little salt pig and spoon, a lettuce knife, which can also be used on brownies and cakes, and a great little spatula which is a great size for me to use to scrape out the batter bowls.  I love it all - thank you Erikka!  Good luck with the coming birth of your baby!

When you try the rappie pie let me kow how it turns out. I've never seen anyone outside of my family down home make it. lol Oh and that cornbread recipe is sooo amazing!! I think it's the perfect cornbread. Smiley
