Details of swap:
This is the MAGIC YARN BALL THEMES SWAP!!  You will send your partner a themed project kit consisting of a one (or more) skein pattern and yarn of corresponding weight/length for the pattern. The really fun part is that you will first make the yarn into a "magic yarn ball."  This means that you re-wind the yarn yourself, hiding little trinkets and treats inside the yarn as you go, that all tie back to the theme!  Some theme ideas already suggested include: a movie/show, beaches, rainbows, dog, technology, spinning, new baby, etc!

Since we're all crafty people, it goes without saying that we should craft some of the treats ourselves. You will be required to have 15-20 things in the yarn ball and at least 4-5 of them should be small crafts made by you. All of which should tie into an over arching theme your partner has listed. If you are sending more than one skein, you are only required to send one MYB, though ideally it would all still match the theme. The additional skein(s) can be sent as is (no need to rewind).

Also, while I know not everyone can afford it, if its only one skein, try to get the nicest yarn you can afford. Im not saying go buy a forty dollar ball of cashmere yarn (unless you really want to, in which case you can be my partner!) but try to get something youd be excited to receive. I will try to group partners by interests, as well as how much they're able to spend on the yarn.

When you sign up, let your partner know if you already know what you want the yarn for ("I would like yarn so I can make the MagKnits Sophie Bag"); or, if you have a general idea ("I would like yarn and a pattern for a felt handbag"); or, if you just want a surprise pattern. If you have more than one idea for a pattern, feel free to give your partner a choice of patterns (or books) to choose from.

Also please remember to read the Swap Info Guide to find out how to ship your item and other details about participating in a swap. You should read this whole thing so you not only understand whats expected of you, but youll also see what Im expected to do.
As with all Craftster swaps, DC# will be required when sending within the US. If you are shipping internationally, please save your receipt as proof of sending.

PLEASE do not ask your partner for a photocopied pattern from a book. This is against copyright laws.

In this swap discussion feel free to talk about one skein patterns you love, good websites with patterns, and places to get yarn some people may not know about! Talk about themes and other things that tie into this swap!
Also, if youre not a member of Ravelry yet, I suggest you get yourself on the list. They make it really easy to find wonderful patterns online and its totally free.

Note: I'm a huge fan of Ravelry and HIGHLY recommend joining. It's a great way to share what projects you've done in the past, as well as get patterns. I would really like for people to be able to track the status of their partner's projects after the balls are received, and Ravelry is a fantastic way to do that. If you're already a member, feel free to add me as a friend (tar3820) once you sign up.

*Special thanks to previous MYB organizers from whom I shamelessly borrowed most of this information! (Me too!!! Hehe..)

Also, remember to read the Swap Info Guide to find other rules about participating in a swap.

Mwahahahahaha lol How could I resist this swap?  I love magic yarn balls!  I'll be sending in my questionnaire thingie in the next few days.  By the time this swap starts and I get my awesome partner, I'll be finished with my Crafty Detective package, which is good since it's starting to get all massive and crazy lol

I sent in my questionnaire Grin, who can have enough yarn? I think the theme idea is cool.

I've heard it both ways.

I'm looking to swap some knit &/or crocheted crafts for handmade CP/HP soap.
