So in the next few months I will be moving in with my boyfriend of 3 years.  He has been living in a duplex for the past 9 years or so, and I will be moving into his place while I finish school.   Smiley

Being that we both have to get up and head out the door around the same time, I have decided to "take over" his spare bathroom... and make it my own.   Smiley  As you can see from the before pictures, this bathroom had been virtually abandoned.  Even when it was clean, there were mineral stains in the tub... the old wallpaper was beginning to lift and peel away from the wall near the tub... the blinds were old... there was no light fixture over the light bulbs... and the list goes on.

Anyhow, here are the BEFORE pictures:

The stained tub... ewwwwwwwwwww

My renovations:  I sanded and varnished the cabinets, put a texture paint on the walls, painted the ceiling white and the walls a vanilla color, used a LOT of CLR and spent a LOT of time getting the tub cleaned out, put a wood and rock border around the tub, painted the borders brown, added new blinds and fixtures... as well as a medicine cabinet.  Finally, threw in a new rug and some towels and... Voila!!  It was a LOT of work... but I love taking showers in my new "fancy" bathroom.  haha   Cheesy

And here are the AFTER pictures:

Clean tub!!

I'm so glad it's all done!!   Grin

Miraculous! Congratulations on that and I hope that it's not too tempting for him to encroach on your bathroom.  Do you have more plans on integrating your style on the place?  I, too, will be moving in with my boyfriend of 3 years soon and have started planning the improvements to his 1911 house.  Luckily, he's been on-board with my suggestions so far.  Wink

Thank you!  He actually wants to remodel his bathroom next... he's not allowed near mine.  hahaha   Cheesy

My boyfriend is pretty headstrong when it comes to what he likes, and so am I... so we'll have to compromise a lot as far as interior etc.  It's funny, because we are definitely not on the same page as far as style.  He has Japanese swords and lots of dark furniture and decor... and my stuff is more bright and modern.  He's pretty nice about letting me get my way a lot, so I won't take over EVERYTHING.  lol   Cheesy

Your 1911 place sounds like a big job - good luck with it!  Wink

The hard work is worth it - to have a nice new space that you've created to your own liking.   Grin  Good luck with it!!

I agree.  It was actually my creative boyfriend's idea to do the stone trim.  Smiley

I moved in with my boyfriend in January. He's been in his 2 bedroom apartment for a couple years and he'd really only decorated the living room. So far we've done the bedroom and he's finishing the bathroom this weekend. Next week we're starting on my craft room *huge smile*. Then the livingroom (its smoke stained and needs fresh paint). We're leaving the kitchen for last because it'll be the most work. But we'd love to do it before summer. I'll start posting photos soon. Smiley
