Okay, My daughter is highly into cosplaying. So, she comes to me one day last year and says.....Tim Burton is making Alice in Wonderland. Where I reply.... DUH

I have been VERY BUSY back in school myself after all these years. Well, break comes up and I am finally able to start working on her mad hatter costume. I forgot to take pics of the low cut boots. I found a great pair of  boots but they were long...so naturally I cut those down. I am almost finished with the rest of the costume once that is done, which will probably be tomorrow. I will post those here as well.

Anyway, here is my take on the hat. I added a little stuff for my own fun. LOL

Please excuse the spray painted hands ( we all know that artist just love to get dirty:P) Lots of things I am working on. I hope its well received. Thanks

Beautiful. I love the button flower on the side and the embroidery on the hat band. Did you construct the hat base from scratch?

Thanks for the compliments! Yes, I made it from scratch.  Foam board and cardboard...then lots of material...hot glue...paint of varying kinds...and misc. objects.

I am hoping to have the rest of her outfit done tomorrow, save for the orange wig. She is still contemplating if she wants to have a wig or just temp color  her  hair orange for the day. I also have the perfect yarn for her  eyebrows. LOL

I am also in the midst of constructing American McGee's Alice costume for my youngest daughter. She didn't want to be the Alice from Tim Burton's movie. LOL She has a dark side to her that is positively EVIL!

I will be VERY busy tomorrow, but hopefully will have it all said and done tomorrow.

Love it!!! So unique and funky- I love all the little bits and pieces to it.

I love this hat and I would love to see the whole look!

Thanks so much! After all the hot glue burns, I take great joy when someone compliments something that my literal sweat, blood and tears went in to.

Here is the link to see the entire outfit.  http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=340430.0

I made both outfits. The Mad Hatter is my oldest daughter who is 15 going on 16 real soon.

The youngest of my three kids...is "Alice" and she turns 11 in exactically 14 days!
