My partner received her package on Thursday. She's now crafting away on her package so I figure I'll post a few photos of the items I sent.

First, I've noticed these little tea cup pin cushions are quite the rage on Craftster so when I saw this tea cup and saucer for just a handful of change at the thrift store, I snapped it up. The cushion part is made of leftover felt and embroidery thread and a random button in my stash shaped like a thread spool.

I then found some great vintage fire-engine red corduroy and a matching circa 1970s floral curtain that I used to make a small tote/purse  with a matching zipper pouch. I liked this project so much I made the same thing for me. Smiley

I found this old children's book in the 15 cent bin at Goodwill, cut part of it up and used it to decoupage onto a tray--for whatever. I thought it could be useful to gather up all the items she might need for one particular craft project. The book is from 1961. I sent that too.

I made this denim zipper clutch out of my old jeans. The pocket was reattached to a part of the leg. The flower is from scraps of fabric and is actually a pin so she can change it if she wants to change the look of the bag.

My two-year-old daughter helped me with these. The birds are just some old-school paper mache with old newspapers and glue. We then feathered them and add eyes and beaks. We made some for our house too. They're currently nesting in our houseplants. Smiley

I also made a little flower corsage pin out of fabric scraps. I threw in that yellow floral toddler dress, which my daughter didn't really wear. I  hope it fits Myrna's daughter. You can see it in the group shot.

I had a lot of fun with this swap. Thanks Smiley

I like the look of the denim clutch.  I also like the birds and your pin cushion.  Nice work.  Great swap package.

i had asked lizzyjoan if she could include some containers that would be good for organizing things into, cos i am trying to get more organized.  and she totally delivered!
i am fascinated with the surfaces of these absolutely sturdy (important for a klutz like me) nesting boxes that are coordinated but not too matching (it bothers me when things are too matchy-matchy, but these are just right!)

i like the strange texts and mysterious photos on the sides, too!

closeup on the coasters:

i always looked at some items made like these in catalogs, and never could convince myself to buy them.
yet i also never would get around to making some!

closeup on the pincushion (cool textures!):

i am SO set for pincushions now.  previously i was keeping my pins in all the wrong containers and now that will not happen.  i have recently received pincushions in 3 swaps and now i can have several in different places, and i will have no excuse for ever losing pins or sticking them in the couch or stuff like that.

i forgot to take a closeup of the great and colorful coin purse made from juice containers (but you can see it in the first pic).  i always wanted something out of those, and again something i would not have managed to make on my own!  i'd not trust my skills to put that through my sewing machine, for one thing.

thank you, lizzyjoan!!  i love it all and i hope i can get yours out to you in a reasonable time!
oh by the way, i do like both kinds that were discussed in the discussion thread, but for some reason i was kinda hoping to get some of the "loud and proud" obviously recycled things and i was so pleased to see those!
