It's polymer clay.  (I am still a newbie in polymer clay; in fact this is my second go around.  I admire those who can create those fab polymer pieces.  And let me say I completely burnt the first piece I sculpted, and polymer clay smells horrible when burnt!  Luckily the paint covers the burnt beak tip of sculpted skull #2.

After baking, I painted it with silver metallic paint and painted it again and again and again, and just for fun, painted it one more time.

Then, I sealed it with several coats (I had it hanging when sealing so it would come out smooth, but I think the bottom/back still came out a bit rough. Tongue  I'll check the brand when & if I can find it in my messy garage stash.

Of course there was the long waits for drying.  Sometimes I really hate waiting for paint to dry; of course that didn't stop me from using three types of varnish & paint for the box.

I am just happy you like it crendon; I was so very worried!

I received yesterday from Lunanne and it is BEAUTIFUL WORK!
I really love hand made books and have had them on my wist all over .... she took that and ran with it.... take a look at her great stuff!!!

I received a divination book in Griffindor colors!

Here is a side of her stitching..... so neat!

She also hand carved some divination themed stamps and this one is my fave, the crystal ball!!!

And every so often there were some great words that went with the theme!

Thanks so very much Lunanne!  I love it and will treasure it forever!!! Smiley
GREAT SWAP GUYS!

That HBP cross stitch book is pretty great!  If I had a Divination book, I'd totally write myself an awesome future, but then I'd probably get poor marks from Professor Trelawny.
