Itty Bitty Game Night (pic heavy)

Hello there! This is my first Craftster challenge! I am super excited to share this since it is my favorite game on earth (nerd). I was inspired by an actual Scrabble game!  Because EVERY doll house needs something to keep the boredom at bay! If I had more time I would have included a dictionary, it seems to be an essential item when we play seeing as my bf majored in English and I swear 90% of the words he comes up with don't exist.

Everything fits in the little box, I made that out of some scrapbooking cardstock. I painted the little banner with the word Scrabble on it by hand. I made all 100 letter tiles out of wood and hand painted them. They each have the correct letter and corresponding number value on them. It took forever! I actually didn't have a brush small enough, so after a lot of complaining to my bf he fixed the problem by cutting off most of the bristles on one brush so that I only had two tiny strands to work with. It worked really well. In the picture of the game all set up you can see that I spelled out the words "crafts" "art" and "knit" (knit has a blank letter tile, I got frustrated trying to find the k I made!) I shrunk down the actual instructions and folded it up. You can actually read them with a magnefying glass.













This is the letter Z with the number value of 10. Super tiny!



I made 4 of the tile holders out of wood, these are my favorite, I love how they came out!





I sewed the bag you keep the letter tiles in using red felt, the tassles are yellow embroidery floss. It actually works but the tiles
tend to get stuck inside on the felt.

Whew!  I made a rubber stamp the size of one of your letters on the project I was just working on.  I can't even imagine trying to work with so many small small small small _small pieces!  I can see you exhaling and blowing the pieces all over, or, God forbid, accidentally dropping them.   Oog. lol  Great job!  And welcome.

This is so awesome, because I was thinking of doing a checkerboard. Great minds? Checkers was an easier thought because of no letters. LOL That or a deck of cards.

VERY cute. I love Scrabble too. Just made a bookmark out of shrinky dink for someone and put her initials on the board with miniature wood tiles.

  You know, I actually went to bed thinking on this one last night! I was trying to imagine just how small those letter pieces are, and how you managed to make that tiny playing board. I imagine the detail on the board is all true?  Those pieces can't be more than a quarter inch square.. or less?

Yes I definitely went cross-eyed making all the little letters, they are aproximately 2.5mm square. It was really hard to get them to be uniform. As for the game board I drew it, it is as acurate as I could get it. 255 squares, the only thing I was not able to put on the board without it looking a mess was the lower left corner where all the letters are listed with their corresponding number value.

And to respond to the comments of dropping the pieces or blowing them off the table, it happened more times than I could count. I also enjoy the sound they make when I shake them in the box, so quite often they end up on the floor.
