Margaritas & Facial Masks

Completed this project just about 30 minutes ago.

Had this idea rolling around my noggin for awhile, and finally started about a month ago.

Not exactly how I had pictured the final product in my head, but I am pleased with how this turned out. It is hard to tell, but the parchment behind the tree is painted like the sky. The calligraphy has Etz Chaim: which means Tree of Life, and is Proverbs 3:18 - It is a tree of life for those who grasp it, and its supporters are praiseworthy.

Some in progress shots:
The tree is sculpted out of Celluclay, which is super easy to work with! Very forgiving, and cheap.

Dried, mounted to the glass/frame and sealed for waterproofing. Think the frame is 18x20.

Began placement of the glass on the tree, and found it was very slow going. Not to mention the frayed nerves. Hence the glass of adult beverage in close proximity to work.  Smiley

Tree all grouted. Needs more cleaning, but then I can move onto the next step.

Lightened the grout a touch from the original chocolate.
Canopy update:

Project stats:
Finished size: 18x20
Stained glass, tempered glass, grout in green and brown, green bottle glass, parchment, paint, calligraphy. Began project February 2, 2010.

As always comments and questions are welcome! Smiley

That is just really, really pretty. I like how it spills over the edges of the frame. The shape of the branches is also appealing to me.

This is simply lovely. I love this scripture too. I love how it spills over the edge of the frame. I have no idea how it originally looked in your head, but how it turned out is perfect. Thank you for sharing!

Shocked  I love everything about this project!  The craftmanship, the materials you used, how it seems to grow out of the frame, and, being Jewish, the saying you used!  Nice!
