Wow- that embroidery piece might be one of my favorite things in the whole gallery. I'm sorry that you were flaked on- that always sucks. I really hope in time you'll decide to swap again. I, for one, will be disappointed if I never get the chance to swap with you- and I'm sure other feel he same way. Your package was amazing!

wow, thanks so much for the positive feed back guys  Smiley I loved the sugar skull too. My hubby is from mexico and doesnt like the way americans make sugar skulls so I made sure I got his approval when I drew the pattern out. By the way...That was my very first real embroidery project! I almost didnt let it go because I was so proud of it! lol
anyhow thanks again for the positive comments guys Smiley I am sure I will swap again, It will just be a while because Im almost done with chemotherapy which means I am getting ready to move to NY to be with my hubby on base. Any swappers in wayyyy north New york?

Your package was great, I'm sorry you were flaked on as well.  What a great effort for your first embroidery project!  I recently sent away my first embroidery project and though I love it to bits and was very proud of it, I must say it's no where near as impressive as yours.
Good luch with your chemo and your move to NY.  See you when you get back to swapping Smiley

Not in NY but close in PA!  also an army brat Cheesy

You have me very curious now about the sugar skulls...I often wonder what craftspeople in Mexico must think of our crafts...are they authentic enough or "fakes"...I love everything about Mexico and do these swaps to honor the culture, but I guess it would be good to research more to make it more authentic!

Sorry you got flaked on, but remember that only the organizer knows all of the facts...maybe there was a good reason...but nonetheless, please don't let hurt feelings stop you from doing it again...like I said, most people who join a swap are just awesome!!! (like pantsafari!)

Alright everyone- I know its been a while, but I wanted to post pictures of what I sent for TheNorm02 in her swap package. As some of you know, she was flaked on (on her first swap!). She received a while ago, so Im posting up pictures!

I made her a charm bracelet with charms of saints and shell beads (shells have religious symbolism in Catholicism.)

here is a closeup

I also decorated some hand towels with Lady of Guadalupe fabric (I made some day of the dead ones for Craftygurll, and I liked how they turned out so much, I made some for Norma also!)

And I made a purse featuring Our Lady of Guadalupe, Inspired by one on her wist.

and here is a closeup

Now THAT is how you make an angel package!   Wink  I can tell you I LOVE my towels, and have received many compliments on my "skull bathroom."
