I was just lusting over checking out some pretty fabrics on Fat Quarter Shop and came across this pattern.  I think it would be a really cute variation to send for this project! I wouldn't do the outer pieced border I don't think and would have to figure out the size needed (I'm not buying this pattern, just using it as a jumping off point). Basically framed 4 patch blocks. Simple, but cute!

Ohh i'm glad I found this post!

I just got my kit in the mail yesterday and I opened it to find the CUTEST rainbow colored clown fish fabric. It's gonna turn out to be a very brightly colored quilt. Kinda gender neutral lol

I'm really excited to start working on it probably tomorrow. I'll definitely post pictures as im working on it Smiley

Edit: here's a picture of the fabric I got...I LOVE the fishy!

I requested a kit a little while ago... like, less than a week. I hope I do well on it. I've never made a quilt before. But my sewing machine is going good, so I'm confident.

Does anyone have trouble cutting out the same size squares? I cut from the same pattern piece, and I always end up with a bunch of funky pieces. Sad

I don't cut from pattern pieces if it's a square, I just use my rotary cutter with a mat and ruler. The kits come with the bigger squares cut out, and the strips pre-cut, so that is really nice!

I might jump in and do 1, too. I could use some quilting practice, and it's for an excellent cause. Of course, who doesn't like helping sick kids?! Psychos!
