I really love handstitching and since I have no patience for doing whole quilts I make little scrap pillows. They're fun and easy and pretty quick (kind of instant gratification work)  Cheesy

The scraps are stitched together by hand with embroidery floss.

The little elephant was drawn and carved out of lino and then printed onto the fabric (I have a little tutorial for that on my blog here: http://tidytipsy.wordpress.com/2010/02/01/lino-love-and-tutorial/)
Here's another one on a gold base

They're blogged about here: http://tidytipsy.wordpress.com/2010/03/03/more-pillows/ and here http://tidytipsy.wordpress.com/2010/02/26/circus-elephant-pillow/

Thanks for looking Smiley)

I really like this. It looks great how you left the raw edges. Think I'm going to try this over the weekend

They're gorgeous, but don't they fray like insane? Shocked

Thank you!
@ kate: I have a thing for raw edges, don't know why  Smiley I'm just loving the look of them. Have fun trying it out!
@ melladh: sure they fray a little but not insanely much  Wink The pictures are taken after washing (I always wash them pretty roughly in hot water once) and it stays like that then.
