I just want to say, it is kind of disappointing when I see a cool thumbnail on the "Hot New Projects" scroll on the front page, and I think "wow I wonder what THAT is?!" and I click it and oh, it's just a thumbnail for another swap, not actually a project at all.

I know a lot of people love swaps, but perhaps they could be separated out of that scroll on the front page, and featured somewhere else instead?

I second this.  I also think that swaps should be removed from recent with pics.

I think it makes sense to remove them from Hot New Projects since, well, they aren't projects.

Why do you think we should remove them from Recent With Pictures, pinokeeo?

In ten pages of recent with pictures there is usually only about a page or so that is not swap related.

There's nothing wrong with swap projects.  It's just that they are usually specific to the receiver.

Yes, I agree with pinokeeo on that too.  I think swaps are great for the people who do them, but for those of us not in the swap, it can often be like hearing someone else's inside joke.

I think taking swaps out of the hot new projects is something we'll probably look into doing.  Swap pictures out of recent with pics is honestly a MUCH harder sell.

I think so, too.  I've found many awesome projects and techniques through swap gallery images in Recent With Pics.  Even if I'm not in the swap, I'll jump right in and give praise and/or feedback in the thread, too!

I think they also might encourage people to explore that section [Organized Swaps] in the community, which is great.

That's ok.  It wasn't important. Sad

Aw, it's okay.  We'll keep the discussion open and check out additional feedback as it's posted.

I second/third/fourth taking swaps out of hot new projects.  it's super super annoying! is there a way to just remove the "this rocks" option from a swap thread?
