This is my first time posting here in the Craftster community.  I have been perusing the message boards for about a year looking at all the amazing stuff you guys have contributed so, I am excited to finally have something of my own!

I started to make this blanket a while back, August I would say, as a present for my brother for Christmas.  I got the pattern for the middle panel somewhere on the net, so, I'm sorry to whoever made it!  I wish I could credit you properly.  I finished the 5 panels in about a week and a half 'cause I was so super excited about this particular project.  The granny squares are most definitely a different story.  I'm not exactly sure how many there are in here, I think somewhere around 300, or so? And then there was the whole issue of sewing the thing together.  So, over the ensuing months I picked it up here and there, working on other projects so that I wouldn't get bored.  Anywho, after forcing myself to get to it, I FINALLY finished it this month.
It's a little late for Christmas but thankfully my bro is a very forgiving person.  Grin

Hope you enjoy!

This is the blanket being held up by my tall friend.  Smiley

Here's the middle panel.  Sorry it's a bit wonky, it's not laying flat on a surface.

Oh, and sorry I don't have a picture of the back.  I had to go over to a friends house to use her camera (because my adorable, yet mischievous kitties got a little too interested in the wrist strap and knocked mine off a table  Angry) and I forgot to take one.  It's pretty messy anyway.  I did sew in the ends but there were a lot of places where there wasn't enough crocheted bits to hide the corresponding colours into.

Thanks!

YES!  I thought I was the only person in the world who played this game!  I love it, I was thinking about making a RCR Quilt someday.  Grin

Thanks guys!  My brother has been very, very patient with me.  Christmas morning he opened a box full of unfinished-ness.  We're both going to visit the 'rents for Easter so I'll finally be able to give it to him...3 months late.  Cheesy

It is lovely- the pannels are great, and it is good for you, you didn't give up on the granny squares. You are rigth, they can be boring - maybe a work for while watching TV  Wink.
Your brother is a lucky person.

Sweet Pickled Onions... THIS. IS. AWESOME!

Sprites are such a great subject for crafting... excellent work! Ya know, my project for this has always been the food from the game as amigurumi...  Wink

I wasn't allowed to have a game system when i was a kid, but my parents couldn't stop me from playing at other people's houses Wink My cousins had this game and it was the first (and pretty much only) game I played until i was in my teens. Awesome job, extra points for nostalgia!
