Butterick 4790 Retro '52 dress

Pattern called for bias tape finished edges but I went crazy and decided that since I hate working with bias tape it would be *easier* to just cut the pattern twice and have it lined with the same fabric and skip the whole edging mess. Fabric is light blue men's workshirt material, very light weight and almost see-through if I hadn't lined it.

Pattern back says this is a very easy level and I'd have to agree. The darts take a while to put in but if you made it per directions (i.e., not lined like I did) then it would be pretty simple.

I really like this without the contrasting bias tape!  I've never been a fan of this pattern, but I could definitely see myself wearing your version.  Good job!
