Ooh, I've been thinking about this for the last couple days/weeks. Wasn't sure what to make, but I have 8 batches of soap in the mold, ready to be cut tomorrow. Anybody interested in handmade soap? Hmm, looking at the requirements, I might need to double check, I would consider 4 bars of soap to be a medium. Plus I would probably crochet a washcloth or a soap saver or something. I'll post a link when I get my soaps posted, I just made unscented oats n honey, red tea and clover, lemongrass-eucalyptus, gardener's scrub, dragon's blood, oily skin bars, lavender honey, coconut (which is smelling like apple?? what's up with that?).

For a spring theme I think definitely the gardener's scrub, lemongrass-euc (which is bright yellow and green), red tea and clover, and not sure which else. Either oats n honey or lavender honey?

finished sewing my little guy!  =)

here are the pictures of the Bunny stuffy/pillow i've made for this swap.  He's made with a bunny print fabric.  And you'll also get two bars of my first attempt to make soap.  Its non-vegan (sorry, vegans!  =/) named Botanical Exfoliating Soap.  Original, i know.  It's herbal citrus scented with apricot seeds as an exfoliate. i warn you now, it doesn't look perfect but i think it smells good and works just like soap is supposed to

i may make more to go with the package.  maybe some notecards or jewelry.  i'm trying to de-stash

I like the idea of soaps, but when you say it isn't vegan, what specifically is the animal product in it?

(I'd be okay with milks but not with fats kinda thing...)

I don't know about icybyrd, but mine are all vegetable oils, my only current non-vegan soaps are my honey soaps, but I already let TSM know that if she just lets me know if the person I am sending to is vegan I will not send honey soaps.  I live in Portland for crying out loud, we're way too hippy up in here for me to use animal fats! If I lived elsewhere maybe, but a lot of people just don't care for the idea.

FYI: lots of commercial soaps (also a lot of commercial "soaps" aren't soap but synthetic detergents, uh, that's a whole 'nother rant) contain animal fats...if your soap bar says sodium tallowate, that is saponified beef tallow, sodium lardate is lard (pig fat), sodium emuate is emu oil.

I'm comfortable with both milk and honey.

... That sounded kinda biblical! Cheesy lol

I'm going upstairs RIGHT NOW to go check my soap for those things mare mare!!! I had no idea. I don't think they would though, because if body shop claims they don't test on animals, I really couldn't picture them using any. But I'll check anyhow. Thanks for the info!

Beautiful green yarn!

I'm not really into gnomes, I just wanted to play with my hooks and thought he would be cute.

In love with the leather journal.  The combination of leather and delicate flowers is beautiful!

Love the leather journal and the yarn.

Just checked the ingredients for my soap: boo.  I'm not vegan, but still.

Heh heh - I WISH i had made that awesome leather journal! It's really great, Spotnik.

I'm also lovin' all this yarn. I was at my local yarn shop today and was going to pick up some spring colored treats but decided to hold-off just in case I win some in the raffle!!
