If anyone needs me: I'll be at the thrift store...

I love this idea! But I've recently decided I can't buy any new clothes... and I can't go into my favorite place on earth without buying anything... or can I?
Decisions, decisions.

I LOVE this idea! Especially since last week I took my first trip to Goodwill (I know, tragic, but my mom is all snobby about it) and love it. I've been to our other thrift store millions of times but they just don't have anything good. I love the fact that I can go get new clothes for tons cheaper, support a good cause, AND not hand over tons of money to line the pockets of the greedy corporations of America.

(and yes, I've noticed the price diffrences too)

This is a great idea! I just have one question: I know that you initially have to buy the clothes as a top-and-bottom type outfit. But is it alright if you reconstruct one of the pieces as an accessory (like a purse)? Or does it have to be a reconstructed top/bottom outfit?

You could do anything you want, and have anything in the outfit you want, just as long as you don't spend more than $10, and you atleast have a top and bottom.

does the $10 include the supplies you need to finish the product (notions, embellishments, paint...)?

Only if you got them at the Thrift Store, I don't know, what does everybody else think?

Visited Goodwill today and well I have two outfits. One I'm only doing a bit of reconstructing (sleeves) and the other I already had the shirt...so what should I do? Which one would work? Or should I see what else I can find?

From the book Godless:

Just Al: I know that God is real. I feel his presence in my heart
Me: What does it feel like?
Just Al: It's hard to describe Jason. It feels good.
Me: Oh. I thought maybe it was like heartburn or something.

Hey guys! Since this thread has the most replies of all the suggestions so far, I'm gonna make this the next challenge.

So it sounds like the rules are basically:

1. spend $10 or less in a thrift store and make an outfit that has a top and a bottom to it
2. you can use extra notions and embellishments (thread, ribbon, zipper, velcro, snaps, etc) that don't come from the thrift store and they don't have to fall into the $10 limit

Does this sound right?

Fun fun fun!
