[FINISHED] Craft Challenge #49 - Pasta Portraits - Due Apr 1 - Apr 7

has anyone in here done one of these before? If I join in the run, I want to go all out, and have a portrait that lasts a while. When does your pasta go bad? I know some people talk about macaroni art from when they were little, but I don't remember doing any before.

My husband made this ship out of mostly pasta for Craft Challenge 12 http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=98811.0 and it lasted for several years. Actually, I bet we'd still have it if it wasn't knocked off the shelf and shattered upon impact with the tile floor. 

That's so cool Pinky! We made pasta bridges in my 8th grade physics class and then had a test to see which one was the strongest (they were all destroyed in the process). A pasta boat would have been awesome with the pasta bridges!

Hey, guys!  No extra decorations for on the pasta itself (ribbon, glitter, punch-outs, etc.) other than dyes, paint, markers, etc.  Not quite sure how to word that, so I hope it makes sense!

PinkyK, how about metallic paint?  It's... shimmery!

Trying to talk my boy into letting me pasta him UP, but he wants me to do a couples shot of us, so if someone could come in and say "One person per portrait" that'd help

I have a great idea as well that involves a couple.... and I didn't see a reply to to this one. Also does it need to be adhered? I was hoping to work on a table top and then reuse the material.... of course I wouldn't be using paint or anything just natural colors.

hi...this is such a great idea! can I smash my pasta? Does it have to be in it's original form? Who knew there would be so many questions about what one can legally "do" to pasta!
