I've been looking for a pattern to make a wallet that I can use for my cash, paper money and cards, but could't find one, so decided to copy my old wallet.  Before using my best fabric I wanted to make a prototype of an old piece of table cloth.

Even though it's a little askew I like the result so much that I started using it immediately  Wink Actually I'm quite proud of this Grin first attempt:

I used diaper snaps for closures:

Half open:

And completely opened:

And a well sized pocket for paper money and a seperate one for my drivers license and bus tickets:

Ok, I'm very happy with it  Wink...

As I plan on making some more (maybe out of normal fabric) I'd really like to have some C&C for improving them! Thanks for looking.

Way fun!  It's so impossible to replace the perfect wallet once you find it...this takes care of the problem completely!  Good job!  Smiley

I hate how you can never find the exact wallet you have once it wears out. Yours looks great- that must have been the coolest tablecloth ever!

I meant oilcloth in stead of table cloth...I bought it some time ago and used it for so many purposes (to cover my ugly old washing machine, as lining for a toilet bag, ...), but it has never been on my table  Wink. It's the perfect material for a wallet!

LOVE the fabric! Shocked
And I REALLY love the design!  It is very functional - which seems to elude most manufacturers...can't figure that out!??  Undecided

Good job! and this one literally 'rocks'!   Cheesy

Stunned silence.....
Way cool and what a great idea to use a diaper snap. Will that hold out long?
I want one, I want one, did I say I want one?  Roll Eyes

Will scout for material asap.

Well, as you know Ill be more than happy to make one for you  Grin. Just send me the scraps from your leather bag! Ill use sturdier snaps for your version. For oil cloth diaper snaps are perfect though.
