Hi - In honor of National Crochet Month, I'm teaching four one-time crochet classes during March.  Class size is limited and pre-registration with payment is required.  All classes take place at University Settlements Houston Street Center, 273 Bowery, Chinatown, Manhattan.  For directions and map, visit:
http://www.universitysettlement.org/what/directions.html

I'm offering $6 off registration for one class if you mention that you saw this on Craftster Smiley

Saturday, 3/6/10: Crochet in the Round
If you can crochet in rows and want to expand your skills, this class is for you. Learn to crochet in the round, a technique used to make motifs like granny squares and hexagons, hats, and toys. This class will include the basics of increasing and decreasing, working in rounds and in spirals, and tips for keeping your work flat.
Saturday, March 6, 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Fee: $36 (Cost of materials is not included)
Skills required: Basic stitches (single, double crochet), ability to read patterns

Saturday, 3/13/10: Textured Stitch Sampler
Add some texture to your crochet with post stitches, bobbles, popcorns, and cluster stitches.
In this class you will learn many different stitches and leave with a collection of pattern stitches to add dimension to your crocheted projects.
Saturday, March 13, 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Fee: $36 (Cost of materials is not included)
Skills required: Basic stitches (single and double crochet), ability to read patterns

Saturday, 3/20/10: Decoding Patterns
If you have the basic crochet stitches down but just can't seem to understand patterns, this class is for you. This hands-on refresher class will review the basics of written, diagrammed, and charted crochet patterns. Tips for getting the right gauge and pattern troubleshooting will be included.

Saturday, 3/27/10: Tunisian (Afghan) Crochet Basics
Tunisian crochet makes a beautiful and thick yarn fabric which looks more like knitting than traditional crochet. Learn the basics of Tunisian crochet including forming three different stitches, how to reduce the curl, and basic pattern reading and trouble shooting. This class is perfect for crochet newbies and experienced knitters/crocheters who are new to Tunisian crochet.
