March 2010 Birthday Swap Gallery/Discussion

ok, I recieved these awesome pressies from Nikimac a couple weeks ago..... I've just had the opportunity to post pics in the galleries....

I love the plastic zippered container.... It's my favorite on my wist.  The gorgeous tree of life pendant has found a place on a nice silver chain that I had and fits perfectly.  and the Mermaid pin?? Ariel is proudly watching over me when I'm at my desk from the corner of my cork board.





I've apologized and feel the need to apologize again... these past few weeks have been awful here... one thing after another.  first, my Mom fell and broke her shoulder. She lives an hour from me, so I spent a lot of time out of town.  Then I dropped my laptop and broke it, have had it back only a week now.  Then last week my daughter-in-law's dad had a massive heart attack and we had the 2 year old grandson for several days. He no sooner goes back home then I get word yesterday that my Mom is back in the hospital with pneumonia.

I just wanted to mention that after getting my super neat fabric bowl from alwaysinmyroom for my birthday I was determined try a second attempt at makeing one myself.  And I did it!  Reading the tutorial online was great but, actually having a fabric bowl to look at,examine and touch really helped.    I LOVE fabric bowls!  alwaysinmyroom you are so right, these things are great fun to make!

ha ha great!  I like having a sample, too..I am a touchy-feely crafter!

I have been crazy cutting up my scraps and putting them in a bin ready whenever the mood strikes me!  They make fast gifts to put stuff in--I am going to do some in red, white and blue and pack them with cookies to take to the fire department and police department...fun, huh!!!

This is my first piece of crayon tinting and it turned out fantastic!

That is a great bag!  Not sure what a Hufflepuff bag is....but all I want to say when I see it is "Go Georgia Tech!!!"

Your crayon tinting did turn out fantastic!!  I have not tried it yet...you sure did get a lot of detail into your lovely embroidery as well!!

Hufflepuff is one of the four main houses (kind of like Frats without hazing or parties) in the Harry Potter books. The house colors are gold and black. I didn't even make a connection with GA Tech and I live within a half hour of that school. LOL!

Troublet angeled a package for me!  What a nice surprise!

Close up of the beautiful embroideryL  I have always admired troublet's embroidered items so I feel lucky to get something of hers!  I wonder if she knew my favorite color is red?

Woohooo! I'm glad you liked your pin cushion and needle case and I couldn't resist the toys for the furchildren. BTW, those designs were thoroughly tested by my furchild which is saying a LOT. LOL
