Ok, so I love the fashions of the 1940's.  I wear my hair in victory rolls, and I pour over vintage clothing books and websites.  Sometimes I swing towards the rockabilly/psychobilly route....so that being said, I made a new dress this weekend (with, of course, a whole lot of modification).  I was going for the early '40's day dress:

The pictures don't do it justice...it looks washed out and blah.  But take my word for it, it's fabulous.  There are a few finishing touches (such as shoulder pads and leopard fabric covered buttons down the front)
The fabric looks floral from a distance, but it's pirate themed:

I love it I love it.  Grin  Once all the buttons are on I will post pictures of it actual on!

funny thing is, yesterday I was in House of Frazer (uk department store) having a latte with my mam and auntie, and a girl came in with a red patterned suits on, and stockings with the line up the back, and victory role hair doo, she was in her early 20's and looks amazing  Grin

That is gorgeous!! I love everything about it - the fabric, the leopard print, the style of the dress!! I especially like the 'Dead Men Tell No Tales' design with the skull and crossbones. Smiley Smiley Well done, lady! Smiley -x-

This is gorgeous!  Did you use a pattern, or make it up yourself?  And where are those action shots?  Smiley
