I have been tasked to make some artworks with the theme of animals. This is the first time I've tried anything like this, and I have to say that it's had me in stitches trying out different ideas for body options! Cheesy

Cat and Sheep

Duck and Horned Devil Lizard (as a Wizard) ~well it's only 1 letter different...

Chimpanzee and Mouse

These are so cool looking!  What are they going to be used for?  I don't know why, but when I saw them they made me think of those letter pictures you can get for kids to spell out their name.  And I tried to imagine what Zebra Octopus Elephant would look like.  I think it would be seriously amazing hanging on my dd's wall over her bed.

Every time I look again I see something new!  I love the sheep best, with the hands and the boots!  But I also love how the cat has hand on hip.

They really really rock!!!

Thank you! They're just going to be framed up. I quite fancy the idea of making an animal book like this, that could be very funny!

I had a lot of fun matching the animals to the chapter titles in the background. It's a battered copy of a housekeeping book. I'm trying to find a good match for a monkey now. Cheesy

I love these! Obviously all the details and colours are up to your usual amazing standard, but the animal heads work so brilliantly. I hope we see lots more.

I've finished a chimpanzee and a mouse. Will the larger chimp swipe those bananas off for himself I wonder? Cheesy

These are awesome. It would be hard for me to choose a favorite, but I think it's fair to say I'm partial to the mouse and the bird.

You are so creative! I always love your work!

Phizzy!  I shoulda known it was your creative brain that came up with these as soon as I saw the thumbnail!

I have to disagree slightly with everyone else.  While I love them all, and I do have a fondness for the chimp, I LOVE LOVE LOVE the Duck so much!!  (I think he deserves a capital D.  So I did it.   Grin)

I may have to go searching for animal heads and random body pieces to make something like this for myself.  I think they would be cute in a chunky book.  Then again, I think everything would look cute in a chunky book, could jsut be me.   Cheesy

yes to everything everyone else has said, plus i really like the addition of different eyes to some of them--i never thought of changing the eyes on an animal photo, and in theory it could look creepy, but yours are all adorable (which speaks to your wise selection of eyes  Grin)! brilliant work, all of it.

Thank you! I think the eyes change their personalities a little, but hopefully still keep their animal-ness. Like the cat's large eyes.

Loved these.

Wanted some advise as just having a go at rag rugging, but finding it a bit confusing.  Want to use a bodger and do as per wool rugs i.e put fabric round bodget, pull through the loop and its secure, but this seems different.  Any ideas on tutorial to do this properly.  Have hessian and also proper backing for making wool rug, so could use either I suppose, although Hessian is original.

What I am looking at seems to use a Grasping tool with a spring jaw, which just pulls the material through and does not knot.  Don't want all my hard work to come undone.
