tutorial: felted bangles

whoo! felted bangles (totally awesome to wear, they make everyone jealous and are soo soft in the skin)

step one:
get some rubber (or plastic) bangle thingymajigs (behold my awesome technical language)

tie a knot with wool/roving

wrap around

all the way

i thought i had as good picure for this next part but i don't. So what you do is once you finish wrapping, you find some roving loops close to the end and shove bobby pin (or paper clip) in there. The you squish the end bit of roving in the loop, and take a pencil or something an shove it in there until the roving comes out the other end. Wrap that little bit around the bangle

over to the sink

green dish soap

dip bangle in hot water

squish soapy hand like so

roll on edge, slowly then gradually growing faster and harder

dunk in cold water

dunk in hot water

cold

hot

tudum

place in towel


fold

jump/abuse

needlefelt loose parts

show off

Love them. I have some roving that I need something to do with. I tried needle felting, but just couldn't make it work and stabbed myself a billion or so times, but this is great.
