Hi!
This is wonderful, especially in metric!! (USA measurements are so confusing :S )
I just had a question...in your ingredients you say
"* 3 tablespoons fresh lime juice
* 8 whole cloves
* 1/2 teaspoon powdered ginger"

8 whole cloves of what exactly?
thanks!

Cloves are a spice! You can buy them ground or whole, and in this recipe we used whole cloves, which are later filtered out, with all other sediments.

Around Xmas you sometimes see oranges with whole cloves stuck in them as air fresheners.

The hubby and I are teetotalers, and so aren't interested in imbibing your wonderful brew, but it was a fun video to watch. When we were first married, and had no TV, we read to one another. Dandelion Wine by Ray Bradbury is one of our favorites!

Oh that's awesome!
I read about dandelion wine last year and definitely want to give it a go. Maybe this year I can try it. The city isn't kind to dandelions though...
Well thanks for posting! I have it bookmarked Smiley
All the best!

What a beautiful colour that is! My mother always used to make her own wine, and most of it was just awful. It's hard to say now which was worse, the sparkling rhubarb or the banana wine (which my Aunt Velma said tasted "like something dragged behind a truck!"), but her one success was dandelion wine, which everyone liked. (Mom liked them all.) I think her recipe must've been a bit different from yours, though, as the it tasted more like a nice port. I don't remember it having so much citrus in it.

That's awesome! I always get so excited when my projects get featured. I drive my boyfriend a little nuts with it, but he's always happy for me, even when the project is something I did with my ex!

Those other wines sound so intriguing! I'd love to make another vintage this year, but I'm splitting my time between New Orleans and LA and don't have a lot of space in either apartment. The recipe we used does have a lot of citrus but it's not sour. All that sugar really works! I'm sure this is the case everywhere, but in Louisiana fruit wines are pretty popular. Strawberry wine is nice, and the Abita Springs Beer strawberry brew is in stores now! I love sweet alcohols; Hungarian palinka is heaven to me, and we get pomegranate wine in LA that is amazing. That's something I would love to try to make myself!
